CAT 2023 Eligibility
CAT 2023 eligibility criteria is defined by IIM Lucknow in the official notification. You need a graduation degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ PwD) to apply for CAT exam 2023.
- Even if you are in the final year of graduation, you can apply for the exam subject to the fulfillment of minimum marks and eligibility criteria before admission.
- CA/ ICWA/ CS degree holders are also eligible to register for the exam.
There is neither any age limit nor a limit on the number of attempts permitted for the IIM exam. You can take CAT exam every year till you are satisfied with your result.

Which slot of CAT is easier?
There is no fixed pattern as to which slot of CAT is easier. Last year, slot 1 of CAT exam was rated moderate to difficult while the other two slots were rated moderate. In 2020, slot 2 was considered by many to be the toughest of all the three shifts.
Which CAT slot is the hardest?
Based on the analysis, in the 2022 slot 2, DILR was the lengthiest while in CAT 2022 slots 1 and 3, QA was the toughest. Similarly, n CAT 2021 slot 1 and 3, DILR was the hardest while in slot 2, VARC was reported as the toughest section. The overall difficulty level of slot 1 was reported to be higher than slots 2 and 3.
CAT 2023: Strategy to Score 99+ percentile
Scoring 99+ percentile in CAT requires a well-developed strategy for attempting the paper. To score 99+ percentile in CAT 2023, you need to choose the right questions and solve then quickly and accurately. We have provided some points for you to follow while attempting CAT 2023 to score 99+ percentile:
- Your goal is not to attempt 100% of the paper: Attempting 80% questions with 100% accuracy is enough to score above 99 percentile.
- Start with easy questions and then move to the more difficult ones: Do not spare more than 2 minutes for any question. If unable to solve, mark it for later and move to the next question.
- Time management is the key to score 99+ percentile in CAT: To develop efficient time management skills for the exam day, practice sectional and overall mock tests with a timer set as per the actual exam duration.
- Sectional Cut off is an important qualiufication criteria: You should aim for getting above 95 percentile in each section. Attempt a reasonable number of questions (70%) in each sections to be able to clear the overall and sectional CAT Cut off.

CAT Cut off for IIM is the minimum percentile required for admission eligibility at the respective institute. The qualifying CAT Cut off for IIM ranges between 80 to 95 percentile. The final IIM CAT Cut off is however above 98 percentile for most institutions.

CAT Admit Card 2023
CAT Admit Card 2023 will be released by IIM Lucknow on October 25, 2023. IIM CAT Admit Card download last date is November 25, 2023. CAT Admit Card 2023 download link to be active only at iimcat.ac.in.
You need to carry a photocopy of the downloaded CAT e-admit card on the exam day along with your photo ID proof in original.

CAT 2023 Dress Code
CAT 2023 dress code provided details on what to wear and what not to wear on the exam day. It is mandatory for all registered candidates to follow CAT 2023 dress code to take the test on the exam date. The most important points are listed here for your reference:
Dos
- Wear simple clothing- t-shirts, shirts, trousers, jeans, dresses.
- Wearing regular use power glasses is allowed.
- You can carry a bag, however, you need to leave it outside the exam hall.
Don’ts
- Avoid wearing footwear with thick soles.
- Do not wear clothes with too many pockets and large buttons.
- Do not wear any metal ornaments or jewelry.

CAT 2023 Answer Key and Response Sheet
CAT 2023 answer key and response sheet release date is first week of December 2023. IIM releases the candidate responses, provisional answer key and question paper in the CAT login window.
You can download and challenge the CAT answer key and response sheet for 2-3 days for a fee payment of INR 1000 per objection.
Post CAT answer key challenge last date, all the objections are analyzed by experts for preparing the revised final answer key and result.

CAT 2023 Result
As per the official notification, CAT 2023 result date is the second week of January 2024. However, as per the trends of the last few years, you can expect IIM CAT result to be out by January 3, 2024.
- You need to login with your CAT user id and password on iimcat.ac.in to download the scorecard.
- CAT score validity is only 1 year, therefore CAT 2023 result will be valid for admission in the current academic session only.
In the result notification released on the official website, IIM also provides the details of the candidates who have scored 100 percentile, 99.99 percentile, and 99.98 percentile in CAT exam.
